My Topic

The topic that I have picked for my English comp class is the Red Baron AKA Manfred Von Richthofen.  He was a German fighter ace pilot in World War1.
I wanted to pick this topic for a number of reasons.  First, I only have a limited knowledge of the Red Baron and would like to expand my outlook on World War1.  Second I love history and am always looking for new things to learn.
I know he was  both noble yet deadly in the air, I would like to know more about his chilled hood and his many accomplishments that made him such a feared pilot.
My ideal audience is every one who is interested in history.

  1. Hello Nate!

So, I had a thought. Perhaps instead of focusing JUST on those who love history, perhaps you could aim your writing/research in the direction of those who hate history. Thereby creating something interesting that could draw them in to share your love of history...? Just a thought.

God bless as you tackle this fun and engaging topic!

  2. I agree with Ronsard (oh look! A flying pig...). Don't preach to the choir. Instead, foster this love for history. Propagate your love for history. Show an ambivalent person who really couldn't care less about history how totally awesome it can be. I think if you can do this effectively, your paper is going to be infinitely more dynamic than if you just write for people who already share your interest.

  3. I agree with both Sarah and Ronsard on this one. While it would be quite easy to write a chronological history paper on a famous individual, you will have a better learning experience and a more rewarding paper if you take the path less traveled and try to draw others into the passion you have for history. Good luck.
